Short Term Goals

• To conduct faculty development programmes regularly for skill up-gradation.
• To conduct programmes for students to acquire soft and hard skills and inculcate leadership qualities, research orientation and technical skills.
• To conduct continuing education programs and workshops/conferences for knowledge sharing with outside world.
• To improve academic performance of students using innovative and creative methods of teaching.
• To start PG programme in Information Systems and Networking.

INTRODUCTION OF THE DEPARTMENT

The department was established in the year 2006 with an intake of 60 students. The department is equipped with all necessary infrastructure and laboratory facilities. Keeping in view the vision of the institute, the department of ISE is untiringly working to achieve excellence in various aspects such as: students’ performance, effective teacher-student relationship, imparting quality education to students, motivating faculty and students towards research and imbibing good human qualities in students.  

Presently, the department is having around 240 students studying in I, II,  III and IV year. The department has well-qualified, dedicated and expert faculty having 3 Professors, 2 Assistant Professors, 1 Senior Lecturer and 5 Lecturers supported by qualified technical staff. The department has well established laboratories in the areas of Computing, Systems Programming, File Systems, Computer Networking, Microprocessor and Electronic Circuits along with the basic laboratories.

The Department has a strong and active Forum “ARISE” helping in all-round development of the students through various Technical and non-Technical activities conducted throughout the year. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular, co-curricular and sports activities apart from focusing on academics and placement. The faculty of the department are actively involved in research activities in various technical areas. Faculty are attending refresher courses and AICTE/ISTE/MHRD sponsored workshops/training programs/summer & winter schools to update their skills and knowledge in various technology fronts, and to help them in imparting quality education to students.

FACILITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE

The Department has  five laboratories equipped with necessary Hardware and Software for sutdents’ academic work and for the students in carrying out their final year projects. Teaching aids like Black boards, White boards, OHP, LCD projectors are available in the spacious and well ariated class rooms of the department and Laboratories.

Major Equipments

• Pentium-Dual core Systems in all laboratories
• Interface boards for Microprocessor
• Electronic equipments like CRO, Power supplies, Trainer kits, Signal Generators.

Library

The main library with lending and reference sections has books which cater to the needs of the students and staff of the Department. Department has access to online journals and transactions through IEEE online subscriptions. Apart from on-line subscription, department also subscribes hard copies of some of the National and International Journals/ Magazines. Digital library facility is available in main Library to facilitate information access from Internet & Intranet. The department also has a library with books journals and project reports for reference by staff and students of the Department.

Campus Network

The Institute and Department are well connected through a Campus Network and have an access to Internet at data rate of 4 Mbps. All the machines in the Laboratories are connected to campus network.

HUMAN RESOURCES

Department has well qualified and experienced staff with an average teaching experience of about 12 years. There are Professors with Doctoral degree and Post Graduate degree, 5 Assistant professors, 1 senior lecturer and 5 Lecturers. Some of the faculty members have registered for Ph. D. in the areas of Computer Networking and Database management. There are well qualified technical staff members who maintain the various Laboratories and are responsible for smooth conduction and maintenance of laboratories.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

The faculty  in the department are actively involved in research work. The faculty of the department are actively involved in research activities in various technical areas. Faculty are attending refresher courses and AICTE/ISTE/MHRD sponsored workshops/training programs/summer & winter schools to update their skills and knowledge in various technology fronts, and to help them in imparting quality education to students. The areas of research are Software Engineering, Gaming Theory, Data Mining, Adhoc Networks, and Embedded Design etc. Department faculty have published Technical papers in International/National Journals and National/International conferences.
