The Library, the treasure house of information is the nerve center
of intellectual
Activity of any institution. Reva Library & Information Center
is located in an independent spacious block with area of 700 Sqm.
At present , the library has 17,000 volumes of books-reference books,
periodicals, reports and standard specifications.
The Library subscribes to IEL online journals through AICTE-INDEST
consortium & 70 hard copy of National & International journals
which is useful for general refernce as well as research work for
projects etc. The Institute has an ILL Memebership for The British
Council Library and there are plans for an institutional membership
from IISc & DELNET as well.
The Library follows an open access system. Books are classified
and catalogued according to the Dewey Decimal Classification and
are arranged accordingly. The Library is entirely computerized .
To facilitate the search for books , computers are provided(OPAC),
using which students can easily locate titles, authors etc.
The Library has separate Internet Browsing Center with 25 nodes
that are interconnected and provided with 512 Kbps Radio-Frequency
connectivity . The Institute also has an intensive Digital Library
consisting of around 1500 CD-Rom's & Floppies, which can be
viewed in the library as well as borrowed.
The Library has a separate web page through which students can access
e-notes. Question Banks given by our faculty , previous VTU questions
papers & VTU e-notes. The web page provides links to e-journals,
e-books and to other course materials also.
An
unique independent library block is going to came up with world
class facilities shortly. Recently the Audio-Visual section was
inaugurated with a seating capacity of 80. Various educational CD's
have been procured for the benefit of the students and staff. A
provision has been made to view Eklavya Technology Channel, which
carries video courses in different disciplines generated at various
IIT's on week days and special interest programmes on Sundays.
Having provided with abundant facilities to benefit the students
, they are encouraged to use them intensively !
